[thread][Eyes of the Beholder][Temari & Ino]

It had been awhile.

Standing on a branch of a high tree, Temari surveyed Konoha from a bird's eye view, the crisp morning air moving around her. There were no apparent changes in the village's layout, except for what looked like a large space with colorful buildings and decorations, possibly for the festival to occur. It was what Temari was here for, to represent Suna and in hopes of establishing a good relationship with the Daimyo here. So of course, those old bastards in the Council decided to send in the best shinobi they had: one with curves and boobs to boot to persuade the Daimyo better.

Needless to say, Temari did not take it as a compliment and had almost ripped open her fan right then and there in the stuffy dark meeting room.

If it wasn't for the fact that Kankurou had gone AWOL and then decided to be a goddamn baby and stay home, Temari would have just stayed back in Suna and they would've sent Kankurou as the forerunner before Gaara's arrival. But things were done already, and Temari wanted to get of the country before she lost her temper with the Council.

Dropping to the ground, Temari found herself in front of the gigantic gates of Konoha, the same ones she had passed through so many times since her youth. Shifting her fan across her shoulders, Temari made her way to the gate, papers already in hand.

Yamanaka Ino: dot dot dotlittle__flower on October 3rd, 2007 04:20 am (UTC)
Ino's eyes were as wide as dinner plates, shining angelically at Temari. She was the picture of innocence but anyone that actually knew Ino just knew better. If Temari was talking about how Kankurou molested her in front of the council members, there was no way that Ino was going to admit to it. It was embarrassing enough as it was!

"Drama? What sort?"

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes against the feigned innocence before her, even though it was a damned good impression. Training Academy students and then dealing with the brats on Chuunin Exams brought some expertise to this subject, though why Ino would resort to this, Temari didn't know. It was just a simple question, really.

"Drama that drove Kankurou into the unknown parts of the desert to 'train' and the Council to reprimand Gaara about his involvement with foreign women. And we both know that neither of them would do those things by pure whim."

"They are men after all," Ino waved her hand carelessly, looking and sounding all knowing. Men were so painfully easy to read most of the time. Kankurou and Gaara were both simple in their thinking but unfortunately being in power meant their lives were anything but simple. "Grown men, to boot. After a certain age they stop thinking with the head that their neck holds up of you know what I mean."

Poor Temari having to be stuck with two brothers like this. At least Ino could leave Chouji and Shikamaru at their respective houses whenever they started to bother her. Temari had to deal with siblings ALL THE TIME.

"Don't let it worry you. They're big boys."
sunaotome: worried [about nothing]sunaotome on October 8th, 2007 09:01 pm (UTC)
That was the hard part, knowing that they, indeed, were big boys, but unable to stop worrying over them. Even though threats and physical violence were how she "worried" over them, in all general seriousness, Temari really did worry about her brothers. Especially the one who was moping around in the desert, probably moaning his troubles to a sand scorpion.

A soft sigh was heard as Temari closed her eyes briefly, allowing Ino's words to soak into her mind. "You're probably right. They are old enough to watch their asses for themselves. Sometimes just thinking about the two of them and their wayward habits, drives me insane!" With a short huff, Temari straightened up again, refusing to let the issue of her brothers get to her and to show the impact of it in front of a fellow kunoichi.

"Enough about those two. What are you doing so early in the morning?"

It was so cute how Temari had a gentler side that she showed towards her brothers. Tough love, or something like that. It must have been hard to be the oldest, the one in change, and Temari would probably get gray hair before the rest of them.

"Naruto gives me a new job everyday," she rolled her eyes up to the sky dramatically. "It keeps me busy at least. I--"

The rapid footsteps approaching them cut Ino off as she was grabbed around the waist by one of her genin, her cousin to be precise, looking incredibly put off by the girl's kimono he was wearing. He was also, apparently, wearing makeup. No doubt he was delicate looking boy and made a rather fine girl but it made Ino wonder.

"Jin, what--?"

Jin huffed which looked comical on such a doll-like face. "SENSEI. THEY TIED ME UP AND PUT ME IN THIS GET UP. THEY SAID IT WOULD FUNNY. WHAT BOYS WEAR THIS?!"

Ino pointed to her cousin. "This is Jin. One of my jobs."

Temari raised an eyebrow at the boy who looked scared out of his wits, not to mention not very happy with what he was wearing. Although Temari did find the small boy rather amusing at the moment with his flushed face and the kimono colors matching the broad stripe of red running across the bridge of his nose. This made the corners of Temari's mouth curl upwards in an amused grin, though if looked upon by others would have seem to look like a rather daunting grin.

"You teach boys to put on make-up as well, Ino-sensei?" Temari laughed, head shaking at the queer sight.

Now he looked more like Ino's little sister than anything else with his matching blond hair, blue eyes, and pretty-esque features. Poor kid. He was going to carry a complex with him forever now. With infinite patience Ino never knew she had, she helped him undo his hair, wipe off the makeup and point him in the direction to get a male yukata. He couldn't strip his old clothes fast enough to get a dark blue, masculine looking robe on. There was no doubt in Ino's mind that as soon as this kid turned 13 he was going to be a heart breaker.

"This is much better, right?" Ino smoothed out his hair with her hand, turning him around to face Temari. "Properly introduce yourself, Jin."

He bowed to his senior, much more confident than before, and gave Temari a huge, winning smile. "Yamanaka Jin. Pleased to meet you."

"Likewise. Sabaku no Temari," she responded, nodding in approval of his formality, her face changing into a mock copy of the one she always had on for delegation matters. Serious, but not so much that it would scare potential allies. Because despite the cruel unrelenting heat in Suna, there were always the rare rain showers that gave life to Suna's inhabitants.

The only thing she knew about the kid was that he shared a last name with Ino. "Cousin?" she asked Ino, her eyes falling on the familiar shade of blue in the eyes and the light prominent crown of blonde hair haloing his head.
